when first we decide to add chain danglies all over a thing.
I'mna hafta fiddle with this one a bit more.
So I listed these babies:

They were such a breeze to make and to photograph!!!

But now that you can see them for reals, they're cute, hu?
So now I'm all about these simple projects.

Like, if I can make pendants separate from necklaces, hows about necklaces separate from focal pendants?

Would be a lot easier on me thats for sure. And cheaper things always sell better.

D you see this amazing crown bit? The ring bail coming out of the amethyst solder is directly connected to its inside.

And this here- I've had this since I started leafing but never knew what to do with it.

The verdigris on the nail was put there with a colored pencil! Thanks AnvilArtifacts for that tip.

Oops. I just realized that on the listing I wrote that this coin was French. And it says "Brazil" right on there. D'oh!

But it's cool because it already sold.

And this one sold. Another double sided one.

I did some of my embez on this. But instead of spotted bits, I melted it all down into a ... goo of some kind.

And this got snapped up by my buyer of all things neon, Pamela of 3LittleKittensStudio.

It's all muggy out but inside I'm eating cold ripe black cherries. Aahhhh...
Here's what I was sweating over when was it? Yesterday?:
OK, so a good while ago pipnmolly sent me about seventy pounds of pewter and some tips on soldering with it.
After that clusterfuck, I thought I'd do some plain old soldering. I wanted to snaz up these plain horn beads. It might still work when I oxidize it.
Here's the back. It was all copacetic til I added a glob of pewter to the top. But that's what sanding's for!
Here's some other globby globs. Well, the undersides. As you can see there are wacky wires sticking out all willy-nilly. It's really hard to connect small jump rings for bails, so I thought I'd just connect the wire and later loop it somehow.

As you can see, it's some soldering before oxidizing.
AAAaaaaghhhh! Loving all of it. Damn, that pewter is now calling my name. Good stuff, love!

Awesome, imaginative pendants and I like those soldered bits. Isn't it fun to put solder on everything? Yeah, Pipn makes things (pewter, carving) look so much easier than they actually are, eh? :)
ReplyDeleteNO that square one with the crystal chips in is PERFECT. OMG- why is it you do all these things I want to do but you make the effort to actually do it?! All you do is make me feel lazy! I should stop coming here, but you know- you can't just give up crack.
ReplyDeleteArgh! Marina needs help for her finger tips! Did she run out of Boraxo? Cool how those globs turn into archaeological artifacts.
ReplyDeleteLove the raw beauty of your pieces. The new life you breathe into things :) Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteahhh. i love how you manipulate and create. the pendants are cool fo' sure.
ReplyDeleteYou are so inspiring! I look at your creations almost every day to rev me up before I go into my studio. And actually, your creativity is so amazing it makes me feel a little nauseous. But in a retchingly kinda good way.
ReplyDeleteLooks to me like you understand pretty good for a first try there dear. Nice globs n rocks or I should say rocks in globs.
ReplyDeleteI thought my fingers were beat to hell but... ouch.
Those pendants are so cool and no matter what kinds of globs and experiments you do they always have that stamp of your magic that elevate them to another level.
ReplyDeleteOh I really like your solder globs! They havea beautiful textures, reflective surfaces and facets. Please don't alter these but keep them as is.... just lovely fanci.. you never fail to astound. xo!
ReplyDeleteHey Marina,
ReplyDeleteTime ago you mentioned that you were accept on Art&Soul..congratulations for that! I am sure that you will do great!
Love the new pendants!
Brazilian hugs.
Loving the stone (is that an agate?) with the soldered strips/cage apparatus thing. In the picture with all the soldering before oxidizing theengs. Love it. Have wanted one of your solder-cage stone pendant things forever but I never manage to get to them in time :P
