Guess what? I bought tickets to Uruguay!!! And this time Imna make sure to go twice to the street fare where I found so much stuff last time (here and here). I can't believe I've used almost all of it up! I'm going in April.
Mr. Husband's already memorized the entire Uruguayan soccer/futbol schedule for the week before, 2 weeks of and week after our trip. Now he's trying to drag me to some games. In fact, he's watching Uruguay vs. Peru downstairs as we speak. As I write? God I hate sports. They were specially engineered to annoy me as much as possible. All of them.

Why is it that sometimes the pictures I take look like they were taken off of youtube? Like, horribly pixelated, like a tiny picture that's been enlaged? ARRRGGG!
Anyways, the disc in the middle of this focal is an eraser. Yup. An antique pencil eraser I found in Uruguay.

There's a little Mary at the center, gift of SacredCake, which I've affixed to an old earring backing. Looks like they're meant to be together, hu?And touches of the hottest of pinks. I don't know why that color popped up in my mostly monochromatic world.

Note: The skull here is Spirited Earth. Lately I'm forgetting to give credit! The original was white and pale blue, but I was having trouble working the pale blue so I decided to patina it. I just it with on over and over and over again. And then sealed it. Then the next day I had to do it all over again because some of the original color was showing through.
The big ceramic rounds were an 'oops' batch from NessysNest. I actually rubbed some patina on the pale ones to grunge those as well. Cuz I have issues. Of course I got it all over my wood floor, my supplies, my meals, etc. It's permanently embedded around my nails, which will be extra sexy while teaching...

So the top 2 baubles on this necklace are from Uruguay, the bottom is an hors d'oeuvre pick my mom's had forever. I showed her this to see if she'd recognize it and she said- 'That's the pick whatshisface brought me from Spain 25 years ago!' Oops. But she actually liked the necklace. A rare event.

Didja know hors d'oeuvre means 'apart from the main work'? Once long ago, my mom, a doctor, was at a fancy dinner for some hospital something and this old big-shot in the hospital kept flirting with mom. He offered to get her a plate of food. Mind you, Mom's English often goes haywire. Intending to say, "No, thanks, I've already had too many hors d'oeuvres." My mother actually said, "I've already had too many ordeals."
