Me Tat

It's looking crusty right now. Like, slightly textured? That's cuz as the skin heals, it pushes up the 1st layer of skin and ink. But It's healing 10x quicker than any of my husband's ever have. He's a redhead- I think that's why. Sensitive skin. He's so jealous of me right now.
It's very much in the traditional style of tattoo, like the way her upper eyelid curves upward, or the way the inner part of the rose petal is a different color. I also like how the upper banner looks like a hat on her, that was a neat surprise. I wasn't expecting the banner to be quite so rounded or colorful, another nice surprise. You really have to let another's artistic ideas take over when you get tattooed and that's really hard for me. I wasn't expecting her face to be shaded in either, she looks very exotic. I think I'll keep it!
Oh, I just read your comments and they made me laugh- I, too have had that experience of seeing someone after being a blog follower and being like, "Wait, is that what they look like?"and having to re-adjust my whole world view. You'll get used to it. (I look goofier than you thought, hu?)
To answer your questions, I designed it but based completely on traditional tattoo motifs, and as you can read above, the artist, Mario Desa for sure put his own spin on it. And it's not a plastic bandage, the inside part is all white absorbent padding to suck up the blood and ink. It hurt, but not very much. Some areas much more than others. It felt like a series of slow scratches. I think trying not to second-guess myself was more painful!
And, wow, Malin- you've been to Uruguay? WTF? That's amazing. Not something many folks can say. I'll have to show my husband your comment (he's obsessed w/Uy).

Omgosh! It's so awesome!! I am hardcore jealous of you- I want another one BAD.

And just so you know, I'm redhead and mine didn't scab up at all, it was healed within days. Didn't even have a bandage, just saran wrap for the first night and then Bepanthen cream for the next week.

О! Ho voluto pubblicare qualcosa di simile sul mio sito e questo mi ha dato un'idea. Cheers.
